NetChoice Releases Its March 2011 iAWFUL Listing of Bad Internet Laws
| Today NetChoice released our first iAWFUL list for 2011, at www.iawful.comiAWFUL is the Internet Advocates’ Watchlist for Ugly Laws and is a top ten list highlighting the worst legislative and regulatory proposals targeted at the Internet.
The #1 offender on the iAwful list is a bill by Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA) to let the Federal Trade Commission create regulations to dramatically reduce the use of tracking data that drives Internet advertising, by enforcing a global opt-out preference by users.
#2 on the list are bills coming from California and Tennessee threatening teenagers’ access to social networking.
